Will using the modemchk help me?

I always forget on which com port my modem is connected. When I need to make the modem diagnostics or checking it takes time to find the right port. I wonder will modemchk solve my memory problem and will it be able to detect that port itself? If yes then will it work with Windows 7 and 56k modem so I could buy that software?

Thanks for asking. Dear it is much easy to know about your modem's port.

You can see your modem's port number in just 5 seconds. 

You have to do the following task.

Open device manager, type devmgmt.msc in run menu and press enter.

It will open device manager.

Now see your modem here. Double click on modem, it will open modem's properties. You can see here the port number on which the modem is connected.

The 2nd method is this, please see the ports in device manager. See which port is relating to modem. 

When the modem driver will be installed a new port will automatically install. Just check the number of that port.
