I have a 2011 Xperia Play with the Qualcomm MSM8255 Snapdragon chipset and Android OS 2.3.4 Gingerbread.  I'm wondering if Sony  Ericsson phones 2011 will get an Android Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade?  What phones would be included if ever there will be an upgrade?

Hello Jenia,

Sony Xperia Play is definitely one of the better phones to have but unfortunately Sony has removed it from its Roadmap of ICS updates. Initially, it was in the list but later Sony has decided against it and has removed it from the list.

Hence, guessing by the trend I doubt that any 2011 mobile will be given an ICS update.

  3. Xperia neo and neo V
  4. Xperia mini and mini pro
  5. Xperia pro,
  6. Xperia active
  7. Xperia ray
  8. Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman
