I have a Packard Bell laptop bought like 1 year ago. I was very pleased with its performance until 3 days ago. I installed some games, and I started playing. But, after about 20-30 minutes of playing, the laptop shuts down. I have absolutely no idea why is this happening. Someone told me it might be a cooler, or the game not supported, or stuff like this. I know that you guys can help me, and tell me exactly how come the laptop shuts down when I am playing games.

Why does my laptop shuts down when playing games

Hello Arthur,

I faced this problem around a year back. There are many reasons as to why it might be happening like this.

1. Firstly, install an antivirus and run a scan. If these games have any virus in them, it might the reason your laptop is getting shut down. If that is the case, then remove the game, and make sure the virus is removed through the antivirus.

2. Sometimes, a laptop shuts down whenever a game has taken most of the space on the C drive. Check

the space available on that drive. If it is less than 2GB, I suggest you to uninstall your game, and then install it again in some other drive. Or you can even clear some of the files on disk by following the below steps:-

Clean prefetch and temp files in your system.

To do that, go to Start > RUN and type "Prefetch". A dialog box will appear, select all(CTRL+A) and Shift+Delete them.

Next, go to START again > RUN and type "%temp%". A dialog box will appear again, do the same thing given above, and clear the whole thing.

If none of this works, then reinstall your OS and install the game, then try again.

I hope this has answered your questions and your issue is solved.

Regards,

Mccall.
