While Opening An Application, I Face A 0x0000168e Error Message

Misconfigured operating system files and invalid registry data in the Windows Operating System causes 0x0000168e error. It is a common BSOD (Blue Screen of Death) error message. Apart from misconfigured Windows Files, this error can be due to Windows installation or upgrade or because of some change occurred in your hardware.
The way to fix this error is to install tech utility repair tools and scan then fix the problems using the tool.

Method 1: Reinitializing the Driver

• Press “Windows” + R keys.
• Type “devmgmt.msc” and press Enter.
• Choose “Sound, Video and Game Controllers” and open it.
• Select “Realtek Audio Driver” and uninstall it.
• Click on Yes in the prompt.
• Click on “Action” and choose “Scan for Hardware Changes.”
• The scan will be done automatically and install the missing drivers.

Method 2: Check for faulty drivers and update them manually.

• Press “Windows” + R keys.
• Type “devmgmt.msc” and press Enter.
• Choose “Sound, Video and Game Controllers” and open it.
• Choose Update Driver from the menu, and after updating, reboot your system.

Method 3: Use Add legacy hardware option in Device Manager

• Press “Windows” + R keys.
• Type “devmgmt.msc” and press Enter.
• From the top toolbar, click on Action and then on Add legacy hardware.
• Follow the wizard and install as well as update your drivers.
