Hello techyv.com!

I have no anti virus and was thinking of a good one. My OS is Windows Vista. Please advice me if there is something better than avg. Anyways, my friend told me to use avg but I have no money to purchase it. So please tell me if there is a site wherein I could download a free avg anti virus s. Thanks!

Most of the people are using avast, however Avira has 12% better detection rate. AVG simple to use and can detect ~82% viruses, Avast has a difficult interface, it gives real time protection and detection rate is ~87% and Avira detect malware better than these 2 Antiviruses and can detect ~94% viruses update is very slow.

Hello

A good antivirus is Avast. It is ranked as one of the best anti viruses around. There is a free and paid version but the free version does a great job. It automatically updates itself and you can schedule when you want the program to scan for viruses.

Avira is another great antivirus program. It's not as popular as Avast but it's just as good. It also scans and removes malware from your computer.

Both programs are very light on resources and won't slow your pc down noticeably.

I would also suggest a good free firewall such as zonealarm. It prevents intruders from stealing your information and other malware and spyware being installed on your computer.

Nowadays it is highly recommended to have this extra protection.
