Hi there. The Siri application renamed, 'Eyes Free' will be released in Apple's latest version of iOS this fall, which begins around September 23rd.  Although 'Eyes Free' is expected to start appearing in new car models within the next 12 months.

Apple's Siri will be integrated into  Audi, BMW, Chrysler, GM, Honda, Jaguar, Land Rover, Mercedes Benz and Toyota.

Even before iOS 6 and 'Eyes Free' were announced,  Mercedes Benz had announced in February,  that its 'Digital DriveStyle App' would make it the first to offer built-in Siri support.

As you already know, Siri recognizes natural speech. 'Eyes Free" will allow drivers to give voice commands and access pretty much all Siri functions like playing music, hearing and dictating sms, finding directions, and making calls – all hands-free. you only have to turn on 'Eyes Free' by pressing a button on you steering wheel.

So, 'Eyes Free' will be released this fall, but we should start seeing it in newer vehicle models in about 12 months.
