Hi,

When listening to remote streams using MPlayer an error message is displayed that reads: Couldn't resolve name for AF_INET6: example.com (shown below). Any idea to resolve this issue would be really appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi there Joseph H Haskins,

This sounds more like a problem on the other side than the problem with your system.

However, you should check the following:
– your internet connection
– if the link mentioned in the error is working. You can do that either by pinging it using the terminal, or by opening it in your browser
– if there are any available updates for your OS
– if you have the right codecs – you can find the codec pack on the following link: http://www.mplayerhq.hu/design7/dload.html.

If everything is ok with mentioned things, the problem is on the other side and there is not much you can do about it except changing the station or finding alternative sources of that particular stream.

Best regards,
Drake Vivian
