Now Amazon has invited the hotel partners to log in and load the type of rooms, availability and pricing. They can also upload pictures or video and can have bookings through Amazon. A calendar would be automatically updated to notify the bookings for the hotels. But when is Amazon launching its hotel booking website?

When is Amazon launching its hotel booking website?

This new service by Amazon is not specifically for hotel booking only. Amazon wanted to launch a travel service which will then allow the users to book hotels through their website. The retail giant Amazon is now finding independent hotels that will be based on their Tripadvisor ratings. Amazon has already partnered with travel websites before.

This will allow hotels to load their particulars including photos and pricing into Amazon. In turn, Amazon will include its own editorial writing around the listings and to use the service, fifteen percent [15%] will be charged to the hotels. Skift, a travel website, said that it had already spoken to 3 of the hotels and 2 of which had already signed up to the plan.

One of the main reasons why hotels are tempted to sign up to the plan is the size of Amazon’s database as well as the amount of data it maintains for each user. This plan by Amazon will initially focus on Seattle, New York, and Los Angeles and will probably be launched early January next year, 2015.
