What is a tool activity ldap?

Dear User,

Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) is an application protocol for accessing and maintaining distributed directory information services over an IP.

LDAP, which is supported by software companies such as IBM, Microsoft, Lotus and Netscape is used to look up email addresses and can be used to filter the information. It can be used not only to find people and their contact information but also is able to look up pointers to printer, encryption certificates and other services on the network.
