I want to know what exactly is this SkyDrive.

How is this used in existing windows system.

I heard that it is going to replace live mesh with its new Skydrive in new windows 8.

Skydrive is a file hosting service it allows user to upload and synchronized files to a cloud storage.

it access using Web Browser or Local Device.

it is a part of windows live that allows you to keep private or public files online.

private files require a Window Live ID and a permission to the user.

public files doesn't require a Windows Live ID to access the files.

The Service offers a 7 GB storage for new users and additional storage is available for purchase

the service is written in HTML5 technologies.

and uploading a files up to 300mb using drag and drop into the web browser
