The basic purpose of the heat sink is to absorb all the heat of the system or CPU, so that the CPU may not get the high temperature. Most of the computer parts are temperature sensitive, so cooling is a big issue. What a heat sink does, it provides a large surface area to the heat generated. Which results in large air contact and because of which the CPU does not gain a high temperature. Air can flow through the heat sink which causes a cooling effect. Laptops are too compact so cooling is a big issue with them.

That is why a heat sink is most important part of the CPU and the laptop.

Valuable question, Heat is a common thing for every machine, that is wasting energy and couldn’t stop. When machine running with voltage and current generates heat, heat is wasting power and it affect to electronic items badly.

So we should remove heat before damaging. Heat sink absorbs heat quickly and waste it. So without cooling and heat sink, PC and laptops are dead. So heat sink is a most valuable for protecting devices from heat.
