What is the process on viewing software source?

Hello Experts,

Well if we download something from the internet of course we have to know more details about the software for us to be aware.

I just want to ask if what is the process on viewing software source?

Where can we find the details or setting that indicates the full information that the user needs.

Hello Allison,

 

By saying software source do you mean source code?

 

Usually there is no way to see the source code of a software as those are hidden from the user for less complexity.

 

And nowadays all software come with a manual or instruction file. All you need can be found there.

What is the process on viewing software source?

Hi Allison,

First and foremost, all the details of the software you are downloading should be on that website that you are downloading from or from the publisher of the software itself. Therefore, you should read first the details before downloading it.

Secondly, if you have already installed the software and you need to know more about the program, just go to the Help menu and click on About. A window will appear showing the details of the software and where you can find more details about the software.

Thirdly, all software usually come with a user manual that shall help the user to install and use the program. More details about the software are still included in that file. In most cases, the Read Me file either in .txt or .html extension format is used for this purpose.
