BCSSync is a software component of Microsoft Office SharePoint Server. It stands for Business Connectivity Services Clint Synchronization. It uses a cache to store a copy of external data that is needed by BCS solutions.

The cache enables external data to be automatically copied on the client and managed for real-time access, with automatic data synchronization between the cache and external application. The BCSSync.exe process makes this process possible by running on the client computer. Or we can say that its job is to provide an automatic cache refresh and data sync. Using this cache fastens data access.
