What to do after Laptop shows black screen?

I'm having problem with my Laptop. It always shows black screen after I enter my password. It worked fine for some days but now it is showing this kind of problem. I have Dell Inspiron paired with Windows 7 operating system if that will be helpful to solve my issue. Any suggestions?

There is following steps for solving your black screen.
 
First turn on your computer and start tapping F8.
After that it will show windows advanced options. In that boot menu will come to continue press F8.
Please select  "Last Known Good Configuration".
After that restart the system if not works again then repeat step one and select "safe mode".
