Please lead me.

We’re planning to purchase a NAS to run along with our Microsoft Small Business Server, are we compromising the security of our data?

Are there some ways for Active Directory to handle the access rule who will be allowed to access the files?

Dear Ms.Lidiah,

 

You can very well use the NAS with your MS small business server .I will give you some of the benefits of NAS here.

1.    Giving extra storage

You can the storage of NAS so that you can maintain the paperless work in the office you can maintain the scan copies of the old documents.

2.    No overload in main Application Server

As you are using the NAS you will no need to overload your main Application Server by offloading storage & Task sharing with NAS.

3.    It is good network storage.

Since it is good network storage you can get relief of your capacity problems.

4.    Protect office date-overloaded issues.

If you use NAS it prevents the data overload issues. Some employees sending the huge file attachment with the mails. This can be prevented by NAS as there is no centralized place to store these dos.
