The scvhost.exe error is common in the system. It appears on the screen while you start your system or you are working on any file. It occurs due to the presence of viruses or some corrupted software or windows update. This can affect your system adversely, so it is advisable for all to scan their systems always.  I am going to tell you here how to fix scvhost.exe error in your system.

1.) First of all, put your whole computer on anti-virus scan.

2.) After the whole scan, click Start > Run > type services.msc > click OK.

3.) Double click on ‘automatic updates’ option and then deselect ‘allow services interaction with desktop’ option. Enable hardware profile service in this section.

4.) Find ‘general’ tab > click ‘automatic’. Enable service status service.

5.) Click Start > Run > type .cmd > Click OK. Type REGSVR32 WUAPI.DLL and click enter. After you see a success message, Click OK.

6.) Now, you will not face this kind of issue anymore. If it happens, check the updates you installed and try this method again.

If you receive the error for the first time, try restarting your computer then see if the error appears again. If this doesn’t work and it appears again, try running the system file checker tool. Click “Start,” “All Programs,” “Accessories” then right-click “Command Prompt” and select “Run as administrator” to launch an elevated command prompt. If you are using Windows XP, this is not necessary.

Just open the command prompt. In the command prompt window, type without quotes “sfc /scannow” then hit Enter. The System File Checker utility will then scan your computer’s protected system files and checks for corrupt or incorrect versions and then replaces them with correct ones. This may take a while to finish.

If you are prompted to insert your Windows setup CD or DVD, just insert it into your optical drive and continue. When it is finished, in the command prompt, type without quotes “exit” then hit Enter. After this, restart the computer then see if the error comes back.
