Hi Walker,

Nice here that you are using VPN for you iPod Touch and connect to your computer. You want this to be wireless? Make sure you have a good device for it and the ISP should be reliable for VPN service. Here are the steps on how to set up VPN:

 Using Windows XP.

These VPN connections allow user to connect Windows XP clients to connect VPN remotely access on server, VPN uses the PPTP.

For the beginner time required is 5 minutes

1. Control Panel.

2. Click Network Connections item in Control Panel. If LAN connection appear.

3. Click the 'Create a new connection' item from the left-hand side of the window. T

4. Click Next to begin the wizard, then choose the 'Connect to the network at my workplace' item from the list.

5. Click Network Connection page of the wizard and choose the 'Virtual Private Network connection' option

6. You Enter a name for the new VPN connection in the 'Company Name' field and click Next.

7. Click an option on the 'Public Network' screen and click Next. T

8. Click Enter the name or IP address of the VPN remote access server to connect to, and click Next.

9. Click "Connection Availability" screen and click Next. The default option, 'My Use Only,'

10. Once done click Finish to complete the wizard.

  1. When there is no practical limits exist on what may be entered in the 'Company Name' field, click choose a connection name that will be easy to recognize especially if you are beginner.
  2. Enter the VPN server name/IP address data correctly. Windows XP wizard does not automatically validate this server information for the beginners.
  3. Run Computer running Microsoft Windows XP Host name and/or IP address of a VPN remote access server.

You can directly check to Microsoft on how this done they have videos and manuals how to do this especially if you are new in the setup. Virtual Private Network must be safe and effective because this kind of connection is very expensive nowadays.

Regards,

Liza
