VMotion Error: Insufficient Host Memory

Hello there, TechyV!

This error appears even when I have ensured that my workstation has enough memory to host the virtual machine being migrated. If anyone has any experience with this error in Vmotion, your help and suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot in advance!

The host does not have sufficient memory resources to satisfy the reservation.

VMotion Error: Insufficient Host Memory

This problem would come up only if both hosts are in the same cluster and ever when the host would seem to have enough memory capacity available.

Try powering the system on and off. Try and check the virtual machine's reservation and perhaps try and reconfigure it, see if there are reservations or limits defined. These would force vCenter Server to have its internal data structures updated.

See if the host has enough processor power to handle powering or migration of the virtual machine.

See if HA was configured to power on virtual machines that violate constraints on availability.

Try checking the /etc/vmware/esx.conf file and see if there's something wrong with the settings and set it accordingly.
