Unable to install graphics driver in Windows 8

Recently, I updated my laptop to Windows 8. The first thing I tried is to play the Minecraft but I've got a queue error that says "Out-of-date graphics driver". So I searched on the Intel website and finally found the driver for my GPU. However, it is telling me that I need to upgrade to the latest version of .net framework. Then I installed and tried to install my graphics driver only to see the same error message telling me to upgrade to the latest .net framework version. And "The system does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software". I just made a clean install of my Windows 8 prior to this. Is this the reason why I got this error. My laptop comes with Windows 7 when I got it. So maybe this is the reason why it cannot be configured correctly. Please help me.

In Windows 8 the .NET Framework 4.5 is included and installed on your computer with the operating system. Similarly Windows 8.1 also has .NET Framework version 4.5.1. If you install an application which requires a specific version .NET Framework, the application setup might install the required .NET Framework on your PC or it will ask you to install it.

Suppose .NET Framework 3.5 is not installed automatically on Windows 8 or later, you need to enable version 3.5 on your PC. There are two ways to do this.

1. By installing or running an application that required a specific version .NET Framework.

2. Or by enabling the specific .NET Framework in control panel. Both options require an Internet access. You should not uninstall .NET Framework (Any version) from your PC.

You should also check that your PC has the required configuration to install Windows 8.

Since your problem is with the right version of Microsoft .NET Framework so the video card driver can work, try downloading one of the following .NET Frameworks for Windows 8 and see which one works:

  • Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5.1 – this .NET Framework supports Windows Vista Service Pack 2, Windows 7 Service Pack 1, and Windows 8 including Windows Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1, Windows Server 2008 Service Pack 2, and Windows Server 2012.
  • Microsoft .NET Framework 4.6 – this .NET Framework supports Windows Vista Service Pack 2, Windows 7 Service Pack 1, and Windows 8.x both 32-bit and 64-bit including Windows Server 2008 Service Pack 2, Windows Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1 (64-bit only), Windows Server 2012 (64-bit only), and Windows Server 2012 R2 (64-bit only).
  • Microsoft .NET Framework 4.7 – this .NET Framework supports Windows 7 Service Pack 1, Windows 8.1, and Windows 10 Anniversary Update both 32-bit and 64-bit including Windows Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1 (64-bit only), Windows Server 2012 (64-bit only), Windows Server 2012 R2 (64-bit only), and Windows Server 2016 (64-bit only).
