VLC error opening videos with avi extensions

Hello experts,

This error appears when I want to open a video with extension .avi with VLC. I can open any other video with the same extension and this is the only one. Any solution ? Any expert online who can help me please solving this error ?

VLC error opening videos with avi extensions

Hi Stephen,

As you can open any other file with .avi extension, the problem is not with your player, rather with the file.

You are seeing this error either because the file extension isn't right or your file have been severely damaged.

I am saying damaged because VLC can play the semi damaged .avi file by repairing on its own.

To solve this,

– Check whether the file extension is OK.

– If not, change the extension to appropriate format.

If the above function doesn't solve your problem, try to download or copy the file again.
