Vidalia was unable to authenticate to the tor software

Hello,

 

I exercise the fresh Tor Bundle. I have windows XP with SP3. While initializing Vidalia, I receive an authentication error message which you can see in the attached image. How can it resolve? Does someone have idea? Please help me to resolve this

 

Vidalia was unable to authenticate to the tor software.(Control socket is not connected.)

Please check your control authentication settings.

Hello Jafet,

The Windows XP SP3 edition has many serious bugs which causes the errors like you mentioned. To fix the problem please follow the simple steps:

1- Go to Vidalia settings.

2- Here find advanced tab and click it.

3- Set the authentication to none.

4- If this does not help check your password settings.

5- Try the opera version associated with TOR. 

This will remove the error message you are getting.
