VB 2005 Windows 2008 fax service

Hi Friends,

I have a question about VB 2005 Windows 2008 fax service. I am trying to send the fax from my windows service which is written in vb.net. I am facing problem with Windows 7 and Windows 2008 Server. Please help to fix this error, so that it works properly.

VB 2005 Windows 2008 fax service

Hi Cyril L Edmonds,

Windows 7 and window 2008 server have tightened up security's. You should use 'Log on as' a different user of the service, IE instead of 'Network Service' or, ‘local service create a specific user of this service, and give that user the applicable rights to send a fax, etc.

VB 2005 Windows 2008 fax service

Hi Cyril,
The steps to send fax from the windows server are as follows:
1) Create the user on Windows 7 with credentials that can be used for as local user in the system
2) Go to the fax manager, add the same username that was created for Windows 7
3) Add the user under 'Fax accounts' tab for fax manager
4) Open 'Windows Fax and scan', click 'Tools' from the name of the server, click 'Fax accounts'
5) Select 'Add a fax on the network' option, type the name of the server
6) After all these settings are applied, the problem will be resolved
