Office 2010 Problems: "Starting Microsoft Office Click-to-Run" & Unattractive DOCX icons for Word documents.

Currently after I setup Microsoft Office 2010 Beta, I got a message on today first hour, which is telling me to click run for start MS office but it's showing the problems but not any solution. So now, I am operating Office 2007 again and got problems with their logo icon.

This is using some normal “DOCX” logo instead of the real one. But document file type is ok.

How can I get back the real logo?

Thanks.

Hello James,

To be able to get back the real logo of all MS Office, download icon extractor to be found on the site below:

http://download.cnet.com/Icon-Extractor-2000/3000-2195_4-10396156.html

  • Download and install icon extractor.
  • Find the location of .exe word; example C:Program FilesMSOfficeOffice12msword.exe
  • Run the extractor icon and then click the search icon button after pasting the location at the top of the box.
  • Locate the icon or the icons which you want to be the default icon.
  • Next is use your location for example (C:Program FilesMSOfficeOffice12msword.exe) and place the number of icons after the ms office that you want to change. It would be like this (Program FilesMSOfficeOffice12msword.2).
  • Hit the start button and type in regedit and click enter.

You can repeat the process until all the icons you want to change has been replaced by all the original icons.

Best of luck,

Zorian
