It would be helpful if you would provide more details about this concern. For example, what Mac OS are you using? What format did you use to capture your video file or what equipment did you use? Shrinking or compressing your video file is, of course making your 10GB file smaller so that you could email it conveniently. Anyway, usually, iPhoto, iSquint and iMove work best.
