Loading 3D models .kmz files on Google Earth work pretty well, however I get the error message “missing textures- unknown texture” when I try using Sketch Up Version Pro 8.0.11752. When I check the files, the path is just OK. Any ideas how I can resolve this?

Hi Sophieissabel,

Here is one explanation that may can help you to solve error – texture issues in your Sketch Up. First, test if your textures have no errors by selecting a new Material from the Choose Options' drop-down and nothing happens, then, there is a problem.

This is likely caused by the author of the component exclusion the model before saving or uploading to the 3D Warehouse. In this case there isn't a way to retrieve the missing textures, but authors should be careful to embed materials in the future.

I hope this information helped you.

You need to look at the Google sketch up 7 and inside that you will find materials. You will find 12 to 13 folders inside that and all of them deals with the .skm files. The sub folders correspond to .skm files and it correspond to a particular color. I think the problem is there. You need to check that and the problem will be resolved.
