I’ve been using AutoCAD MEP 2010 for about a month now and aside of having common errors such as “running out of memory” and some occasional unique errors; everything seemed to be fine until now. When I tried to use it once again, I suddenly received an error stating that “Unhandled exception has occurred in a component in your application.” Two of my PC’s are having the same error. I have already tried everything I can to resolve this problem such as Repair and Re-installing but I still get the same error message. Can someone please help me?

The cause of the problem that you are experiencing while using AutoCAD is as a result of errors in the application installation files. For you to resolve the issue, you will need to repair the installation using the following procedure:

  1. You will need to go to the Start menu on your computer and then click Settings, and then choose Control Panel.
  2. In Control Panel, you will need to double-click Add or Remove Programs.
  3. Then you will choose AutoCAD from the list of applications and then you will click Change.
  4. And thereafter you will need to select the option to Repair the installation and then finish the other steps.

You will need to ensure that you have a backup up of your custom templates and user profiles before you go on with the reinstallation or repair of a product.
