Unable to update Outlook Social Connector

I am receiving error “The expected version of the product was not found on the system and the installation is not completed” when trying to install updates to Outlook Social Connector. 

I am connecting my Outlook 2010 with Facebook and Windows Live Messenger.

How can I fix the error?

Unable to update Outlook Social Connector

Check whether you moved from you default installation location of your root application then this could be the cause of your trouble. Make sure you use an Administrator account while you authenticate your update installer. Ensure you download the correct language version for your copy of the office do not confuse for example 12.0.1 with 12.1.0. Ensure you do not interfere or delete any of the applications because this could interfere with updating.

Run repair option on the drive and then boot and note that none of this simple steps should be overlooked. If you renamed anything then rename it when you start up. If anything was moved from the office component then move it back, remember not to make changes to any application bundle.
