I get an error message reporting a missing ordinal when launching my newly installed ArcSoft ShowBiz 3.5. No files were reported during the installation of this software and installation completed smoothly without any errors. I thought I might have deleted the .dll file and tried restoring it from the recycle bin. But this was a useless attempt. Then I tried downloading shell32.dll from a DLL download and afterwards I uninstalled and re-installed this software. Again I find no improvement and get this same error on launching. I have had no other major issues on my system and as far as I know, all the installed software is up to date. What then could be the problem with my system? Please can anyone suggest a fix for this problem? I am awaiting your responses. With Many Thanks.

If you are using Microsoft Windows 8, check your ArcSoft ShowBiz version because you might be installing it on the wrong operating system. ArcSoft ShowBiz has different requirement for the operating system depending on how you will be using it. Like if you will be using it for HD, it has a specific requirement and if you will be using it for DVD, it may also require a different requirement.
For ArcSoft ShowBiz 3.5, the supported operating systems include Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7. So unless you are using Microsoft Windows 8, you shouldn’t have any problem. Also make sure your physical RAM is 512 MB and higher. I think your operating system is 64-bit, if there is an available 64-bit version of ArcSoft ShowBiz 3.5 try downloading it instead.
Or better yet just upgrade to the latest version, ArcSoft ShowBiz 18.104.22.1680. If you will be using it for HD, it needs Windows XP Service Pack 3, Windows Vista x86 or x64, or Windows 7 x86 or x64. If you will be using it for DVD, it requires Windows XP Service Pack 3, Windows Vista x86 or x64, Windows 7 x86 or x64, or Windows 8.
Try also running the installer as administrator. Right-click on the ArcSoft ShowBiz 3.5 installer and select Properties. Select Compatibility tab and check “Run this program as an administrator” under Privilege Level and click OK. Run the installer again and see if it works.
