Unable to import bookmarks to Google Chrome.

I have just upgraded to Google Chrome from the age old Internet Explorer. But, I need to import all my bookmarks from IE to my new browser. I'm unable to do so because Google Chrome says success every time but not even a single information is imported. It seems like I need to fall back to IE. How can I properly import bookmarks to Google Chrome?

To import your bookmarks from IE to Google Chrome:

  • Close all browsers that may be open
  • Open Google Chrome Homepage
  • Click on the Menu button on the top right hand side of the toolbar
  • First click on the “Bookmarks” button
  • Move the cursor to the “Import Bookmarks and Settings” button and click it
  • The “Import Bookmarks and Settings” dialog box will appear.  Select Internet Explorer (the program that has the settings that you would like to import from)
  • Click the “Import” button

Note: If you currently have bookmarks in Google Chrome, the bookmarks that were just imported will be in the “Other Bookmarks” folder which you will find at the end of the bookmarks bar.
