TV tuner failed to start operation

I have acquired an external TV tuner from my brother. It has no installation CD because according to him it is a plug and play type of device. The device work properly with his pc when he demonstrated to me how it works.

Excited, I went home and tried the device in my pc only to be disappointed as it will not run and instead I receive the message telling me that it failed to initialize. Could you tell me please what went wrong?

Are there things I need to upgrade or what?

TV tuner failed to start operation

Hello Aldrin,

It basically gives you this kind of error message due to insufficient drivers. Though you don't have a CD for this did you download and install all required drivers for this device? If no then I would suggest you to do that first. If you have already installed them then uninstall them and reinstall them again.

Also you can go to Property settings icon in the TV Panel, correct some video settings and try it out.

Also you can check out if the Tuner you are using is compatible with your OS or not. I would also suggest you to Bootscan your PC and then check. Am sure this will work. Good Luck.
