Troubleshoot Unable To Reach NETBios Name

I have my netbios set up and ready, but the problem is it cannot communicate with other computers.

Is it a problem of IP addressing?

How can I troubleshoot this kind of error myself?

Hello Adolfo,

The first thing you will need to do is determine which application is failing.

In most cases it is usually Telnet, Internet Explorer, net use , a server manager, or Ftp.

So after determining which one it will be easier to determine whether the problem is a host name or NetBIOS name resolution problem.

Regards,

Nicke

Hi Adolfo,
The error is because the WINS entries are not dynamic.
To resolve this error follow the steps mentioned below:
1) Go to 'Start', Select 'Run', type 'ncpa.cpl', Click 'OK'

Execute-the-command-through-run-window

2) Right Click on 'Local Area Connection', Select 'Properties'

Local-area-connection-properties-window

3) Double click on 'Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)'

Internet-Protocol-through-Local-Area-connection

4) Click 'Advanced', Select 'WINS' tab
5) Select the IP addresses in the 'WINS addresses' window
