Yes, the AMD trinity based processors are announced to be the new release of the company. It is believed to offer significant improvements over AMD's current Llano chips. Trinity biggest gains are on the graphics side, leading even against a Llano laptop with a pretty good graphics card as in the table below:
AMD also managed to improve battery life on Trinity compared to the other older chips, still using the 32nm process of older Llano chips. Seeing some tests on the internet, I can say that Trinity really tempted me even if I have been using Intel for a long time. AMD has an edge over Intel at gaming and at the battery life as well, so it isn't just waste of money.
