I am using TeamViewer for a presentation. Suddenly, the session got disconnected. Now when I am trying to reconnect it, it shows a dialogue box saying, “TeamViewer, please wait a while.” It has been so long since then but the connection hasn’t been resumed. Please help.

The TeamViewer software connects to the internet using the internet settings configured automatically by the computer’s default browser. To rectify the issue, close TeamViewer. Then,

  • Open your default browser. Go to internet settings. Disable all proxy. Set IP address to automatic as well as the default gateway. Try loading any website on the browser. If the site loads, open TeamViewer again and establish a connection.

If the above solution does not work,

  • Make sure you have a stable internet connection.
  • Please refrain from using cellular data as it is slow and may lead to many connection timeouts.
  • Reconnect to your Wi-Fi network.

If your TeamViewer session suddenly got disconnected, it only means your connection or the connection on the other computer got disconnected. Because TeamViewer relies on internet connection to connect you to the other computer, you need to have a working internet to initiate a session. If you suddenly got disconnected, you should immediately check your internet connection.

If your computer is connected to a router, try resetting your Wi-Fi router. Turn off your router and unplug it from the power for about 10 to 20 seconds. Press any button on the router to drain any power left on the device. After this, plug the router back to the power and turn it on. When the router is ready, check your internet connection.

Open your web browser and visit a website then try clicking some links to verify that your connection is working. Once you verify that your connection is working, try reconnecting TeamViewer to the other computer. If you still can’t connect to the other computer, it could be a problem with the remote computer’s internet connection.

You need to ask someone to check the computer’s internet connection for you so you can resume the session.
