you can follow some steps then you can get your problem with a error message right click on My computer-Select proprieties tab-go to settings under startup and recovery-uncheck Automatically restart after this when your Pc tries to restart you get a blue screen error message.

Well windows XP has default setting to Restart on failure that's show the causing of restart you should open control panel go to system advance then click on startup and recovery settings and uncheck the automatically restart in the system failure section. that will likely result in Pc looking up completely requiring manual reset or power off but you will able to see the full text  of the BSOD error message and can investigate the possible cause.
