I am currently on a nexus 4 and decided to upgrade to an HTC one m8. I would like to know the procedures to help me preserve the apps present on my old phone and have them on the new one. Also can anyone help me to preserve my old chats present on messaging clients such as viber, whatsapp, etc?

As you decided to move from nexus 4 to HTC one m8 , apps and the messages will be preserved.

Both the phones have Android as the operating system. So getting the same apps and also messages will be easy on new phone.

The apps which you had on your old phone, Search those apps on play store in new phone. Download the apps and install it. You can have all the apps on new phone which you had on old phone. Same for messaging apps, Download and install messaging apps on your new phone such as Whatsapp or viber. These apps have the facility to take the backup everyday. The backup of messages is the automatic process. Once you download and install the messaging apps, register the same mobile number (which you had registered on your old phone). Then it will ask you whether you want to restore the previous backup. Click on yes and all the messages will get restored on new phone.
