I am using Camtasia studio to run camrec files but i want to give them to my friends as these files are videos containg various study material. But they wouldn’t open in windows media player. Can somebody help me what should i do for how to play camrec files in windows media player??
Camrec format ie “.camrec” is an extension endemic to Camtasia Studio. SO in order to play these files on some other media player you need to convert them in some other format such as wmv ,mkv , avietc as per your need. In order to convert them follow these steps:
1:Firstly download http://www.faasoft.com/video-converter.html which helps in converting .camrec files to avi, mkv, mp3, mp4 etc formats.
2:After downloading, open the software and click on add file button and import the .camrec file from destination. If you have a folder it can also be convertible as it supports batch mode of the files.
3:Now select the output format from bottom. There you will see a drop down button near the “profile” button to select your desired output. Select from there the desired format.
4:Now start the conversion by pressing “convert” button and its done in few minutes.
Alternatively, U can easily convert the .camrec file to avi or mp4 format by renaming the file and changing the extension to .rar or .zip respectively. Then you need to open this file with either “winRAR” or “7ZIP” respectively. After opening the file there will be a .avi or .mp4 file. Extract that file and play it via windows media player.
If you have some CAMREC files (*.camrec) on your computer and you need to send them to your friends, don’t send them the actual “.camrec” files because they will really not play on Windows Media Player. Since you have Camtasia Studio, it would be much better if you’ll convert the files into AVI first before sending it to them.
Though Windows Media Player can’t play “.camrec” files, it can play AVI files (*.avi). To convert your .camrec files, in Camtasia Studio, click “Import media.” Navigate to the location of your .camrec files then select one and then click “Open” to load the file. Once the file is loaded in Camtasia Studio, drag the file in the timeline at the bottom of the screen.
Click “Produce video as,” “Custom production settings,” “Next” then select “AVI video” from the list of formats. Click “Next” until you reach the production name section. In the text field, enter a production name then select the folder where you want to save it and then click “Finish.” Wait until it is complete. Once the video is converted, you may now send the converted AVI file to your friends.
