Steam is my lifeline. I play a lot of games purchased from Steam. Recently, I started having problems in launching steam. My Steam client refuses to launch and throws the steam client bootstrapper not responding windows 10 error. Do I need to re-install Steam or is there any other way?

Believe me or not, this error is not so uncommon. In fact, a lot of users face this error at some point or the other. The actual cause of this error is not known; however, some solutions do exist. The problem is that your bootstrapper has got corrupted. Since the bootstrapper is required to launch the steam client, if the bootstrapper doesn’t work, Steam will not work either.

The first thing you should do is to try and run the Steam client as an administrator. To do so, right-click on the icon and select run as administrator. If this does not solve your problem, clear your download cache. Try running the games after this. If even this does not work, disable Cortana and try again.
