SQL server validation errors on this page

I was upgrading my SQL server, but during the upgrading process I faced an error.

There are validation errors on this page. Click OK to close this dialog box. Review errors at the bottom of the setup page, then provide valid parameters or click Help for more information.

According to my understanding ‘after you apply the update process, the button of NEXT and REPAIR was disabled in the entire setup program’ when you don’t choose the features on the selected feature form, the following error message was displayed.

I am also attaching the error message screen shot.

Hi Sue,

Following is the fix for this error:

1) Remove the backslash at the end of shared search directory as shown below:

Remove the backslash at the end of shared search directory
2) One of the possible reason for this error is if you try to install an SQL server update in one language (like Chinese) to an already installed SQL server which is in another language (like English).

Hello,

I encountered the same error and what happened that I was applying for an Spanish version of SP1 installed in English language.

I ignored the description message on the top right side of the Select features page.

Due to this mismatch of language between SQL Server and SQL Server update I got this error.

I hope this provides you a solution.
