There are different new models for the Sony Xperia line and among them is the Sony Xperia Z2a which was announced on June 2014 and is expected to be released around July. It supports 2G, 3G, and 4G networks and uses a micro-SIM card. It measures 137 x 72 x 11 millimeters and weighs 163 grams. It is water resistant [more than 1 meter for 30 minutes] and dust proof IP58 certified.

It has an IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display with 16M colors at 1080 x 1920 pixels screen resolution. The screen is protected by shatter proof and scratch-resistant glass with Triluminos display and X-Reality Engine and supports multi-touch up to 10 fingers. It runs on 3 GB RAM with 16 GB internal storage with microSD upgradable to 128 GB.

It supports Bluetooth 4.0 with A2DP, NFC, microUSB 2.0 [MHL 3] with USB On-the-go and USB Host. The primary camera supports 20.7 megapixels at 5248 х 3936 pixels resolution featuring autofocus, LED flash, face detection, image stabilization, 1/2.3-inch sensor size, geo-tagging, touch focus, HDR, and panorama. It supports video recording in 2160p at 30 fps, 1080p at 60 fps, and 720p at 120 fps with video stabilization and HDR.

It supports a VGA secondary camera. Sony Xperia Z2a runs on Android 4.4.2 KitKat powered by Qualcomm MSM8974AB Snapdragon 801 chipset on quad-core 2.3 GHz Krait 400 processor and Adreno 330 GPU. It has a built-in accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass, and barometer sensors and supports HTML5 for internet browsing. It supports Java and GPS with A-GPS support and GLONASS.

It runs on a non-removable Li-Ion 3000 mAh battery with standby time up to 690 hours on 2G and 740 hours on 3G while talk time is up to 15 hours on 2G and 19 hours on 3G. It doesn’t have a price range yet as of the moment.
