I just purchased a used Sony HID Class 10 Dash Internet Viewer with 256 MB memory.  Why can't I connect via wifi to my Cisco 802.11n router?  Please help.  Thanks in advance.

Hello Lindsey,

Your router is an N router so it should be compatible with all with all wireless devices from A, B , G, and N. Do you have other devices connected to your router? Can they still connect? Please power cycle your router and try again. When you say that it can't connect to the router, does this mean that it does not detect the router's SSID or router name? If so please check your router's settings,  SSID broadcast should be enabled.

This is how you do it.

All linksys routers have a default hardware IP address of 192.168.1.1.

Step 1. Open your browser and type 192.168.1.1

Step 2. Type in admin for the username. If you did not change your routers password the default password should be admin.

Step 3. Click the wireless tab.

Step 4 Make sure SSID broadcast is enabled.

Step 5. Click save settings.

If it still doesn't work contact Sony's customer service hotline.

Sincerely,

Luz M Terry
