If you are using Windows XP and you want to install the latest Google Chrome web browser on your computer, I don’t think that’s possible because Google Chrome has dropped support for the Microsoft Windows XP operating system. The latest and last version of Google Chrome to support Windows XP is Google Chrome 49.0.2623.112-m. Google Chrome also doesn’t support Windows Vista.

To install the latest Google Chrome on your computer, you need to have Windows 7, Windows 8.x, or Windows 10. Since you have that error when installing Google Chrome on Windows XP, try downloading the last version of the browser for Windows XP: Google Chrome 49.0.2623.112-m. See if this fixes the problem. If this doesn’t work and you still see an error, try using the SFC tool.

Click “Start,” “Run” then type without quotes “cmd” then hit Enter. In the command prompt, type without quotes “sfc /scannow” then hit Enter. Try installing Google Chrome again after this. If the problem continues, just use a different browser like Mozilla Firefox, Safari, and Opera.
