Since you mentioned you have Skype beta 4, try upgrading to the new one. From a quick search, many have mentioned it's the 5.7 version but personally, I'm using 5.5.0.124 . You can get it the latest from this site:

This new version allows you to add your Facebook friends to your contact list and do video call/chat with them. But before you do an upgrade, however, make sure you close Skype completely, not just clicking on the x button on the upper right hand corner. To do that, look for the Skype icon found in your system tray, right click on it and then choose Quit.

Also, remember that these are Beta versions, meaning they will have bugs and issues as they are still in testing form. So whenever you're getting error messages in old Beta versions, it's always a good move to upgrade to a newer Beta version.

If you want to use Skype free of errors, download the final and stable release like the one from their download page. Uninstall the beta version of Skype from your computer then download and install the latest Skype for Windows. The current version supports Windows XP Service Pack 3, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8.x, and Windows 10 both 32-bit and 64-bit.
