I have a RJ 45 cable that is unshielded, is there a way that I can shield this to avoid interference? I was made away of the shielded cables and their speeds are quiet fast, I would like to achieve these high speeds. Do I need to buy another or can I just use these cables but how can their speeds be improved?

Shielded cable improves the speed of upload and download and protect also the data from any interferences. Although regular CAT6 cables are improved to enhance download and upload of data. Still regular wires like this will still be interrupted with any outside signals. Shielded cables can protect your data against EMI (Electro-Magnetic Impulses) and Radio Frequency Signals. Signals like these can interrupt the transfer of data or can even damage/corrupt it.

There is no way that you can upgrade your old cables and shield it. The only best and advisable way is to buy new Shielded cable to protect your data from any outside signals. Plus replacing your old wiring is not bad. You may spend more buying shielded cables but you will be able to use it for a very long time. You can make sure also that your transfer of data is protected
