SharePoint Configuration Wizard username problems. Confusing error message.

Can anyone shed light to my confusion?

The error says username should be the same as database access account, does it mean I will have a username vanillargk sqlexpress?

The user name entered must be the same as the database access account for the server farm you wish to join. Either choose Sydneyrehmang as the username or choose a different database name.

SharePoint Configuration Wizard username problems. Confusing error message.

Hi,

In order to configure the database settings you have to follow a few guidelines. One of them is to choose the same username as that of the database server. In the error message it is seen clearly that the username and the database server name are different.

You selected the database server name as "vanillargksqlexpress" whereas the username you entered is "vanillargkadministrator". Change the username to match with the database server name.

If the above solution does not work, try the following:

1. Check the registry for any errors and make sure there are no errors.
2. Then check that there are no firewalls blocking the application.
