Setup error during installation of MS Outlook 2007

We're currently running Windows Mail, but now we want to install Outlook 2007.  We don’t have an older copy of Outlook.

Upon installation, I received the following error:

Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 encountered an error during setup.

There was no error code.  Also, the installer is from a freshly bought copy of Office 2007 and subsequently Outlook 2007.  Previously, I read about threads that suggested an older copy of Outlook, but I don't have one.  My operating system is Vista.

I have no idea about this. Suggestions will be accepted cordially.  Thanks a lot.

Setup error during installation of MS Outlook 2007

For this problem go to Add or Remove Programs feature in Control Panel to uninstall the earlier version of Office (Please ensure that you have a full copy of Microsoft office program). To do this, follow these steps:

• Go to Start, Press Run, Write appwiz.cpl, and then Press OK.
• From the list of currently installed programs, click the Office program that you want to remove, and then Press Remove.
• In the Add or Remove Programs dialog box, Press Yes.
• Once the earlier release of office has been uninstalled, you can go ahead and install the 2007 office software or the 2010 one making sure you have selected the MS outlook application.

Setup error during installation of MS Outlook 2007

Hi,

There are three parts of your questions.

1. One you want to move from windows mail to Ms Outlook 2007.
2. You want to install Ms Outlook 2007.
3. You want all your data shifted in Ms Outlook 2007.

So follow these steps and all will be done.

• Go to windows mail and Export your data files and contacts first.

• Now go to Add or Remove programs in control panel and remove you ms outlook. Restart your system after this.
• Now you can install Ms Outlook from your new installer successfully. No error will occur if the media you are using has no errors.
• Now configure your Ms Outlook profile by setting up POP and SMTP settings.
• Now you can finally move your Exported data to Ms Outlook.
