Here is a peculiar error message from Microsoft Outlook Version 6.0 .

The application is installed on my Windows Home edition.

There are few of the emails, which I am trying to move on to my .pst file and I get an error message.

When I try to move those emails to even delete folder, I get the same error message.

I am not able to move or drag email to the folder.

I am able to delete the emails by clicking on Shift-Delete, but I don’t want to do so.

Any reason for this error message?

Hi Timothy,

I often get this error message when I try to move files from folder to folder.

I usually get the error message similar to yours but often I found some remedy to it.

I cannot view your screenshots, not sure why but I can’t see it.

This error is caused by corrupted inbox which might have possible virus, Malware attachment and it may have hidden files protected by your Operating System. I usually delete this message, if I encounter them as such.

Here is the work around on this:

  • Go to Start My Computer, Tools, Folder Options, View Tab, and check “Show Hidden Files and folders” remove the check on Hide Extensions for known file types, then Hide Protected Operating System Files.

There you go!
