Security problem with Huawei dongle

Recently installed a new Huawei dongle for broadband E173 used in Singapore. After installation, it disabled the existing firewall. Then it performs a LiveUpdate after being connected. Noticed data being sent out. Also noticed a file OUC.exe being installed and details of sites visited being logged.

Also, there is intermittent drop line. Prior to this broadband installation, firewall detected numerous access attempts from some China telecom company eg Zhejiang Telecom, etc. After this, none detected.

Also found OUC log of old sites visited.

Question:

1. Why firewall security is reduced/disabled?

2. What is LiveUpdate for?

3. What is OUC.exe for? (oh, you see?)

Question 1:- The answer might be complicated for it because there is no such software that overrides the windows firewall security and implements its own. But the possible explanation for this is that the dongle thinks that the firewall it s applying is more secure than the one in the windows

Question 2:- Liveupdate is necessary to download the required components for your dongle to perform well in the windows that you are using. Live update means that it will download the updates specifically designed for the windows that you are using.

Question 3:- OUC.exe relates to the liveupdate. It is actually an Online Updater Client that is included in the dongle by the huawei technologies.
