I have streaks of different colors suddenly appearing on my IBM ThinkPad laptop. What caused these lines to appear? How do I get rid of these lines? I have also notices dark vertical stripes running down the screen. Is this a sign that the laptop is too old? What is causing this issues and what is the best way to resolve them?

Dear Kurt a Munoz,

This is surely fault with LCD Assembly and in most of the cases shows that your LCD Life is going to end.

Its only solution is to replace the LCD.  If you want to replace your LCD yourself then i will suggest to check following two links.

And

However if you don't have any hardware troublshooting experience then do not try it yourself.
