Samsung BD-C6500 DVD Rom not appearing on explorer

Hi there,

I have HP  pavilion HPE  PC, I bought SATA DVD Samsung BD-C6500 and installed it on the computer, it was working well but when I attempted burning a DVD, the DVD icon disappeared from the Windows Explorer, I am running on Windows 8.1, when I put a DVD disk in the drive, it spins and then stops spinning, the LED light on the DVD  is on, I restarted the computer and the DVD Rom light went on as usual, but after the computer is on, the icon has disappeared completely, what could be the problem how can I solve this problem?

Hi !

Make an uninstall to your USB mass storage from Device Manager and install the last version of drivers but make sure that they are compatible with Windows 8.1. When you are uninstalling the USB Mass Storage make sure that all your devices USB are plugged out and also when you are making the install. Plug-in all your USB devices and they will make a new clean install. 

To uninstall USB Mass Storage for Device Manager, type Device Manager in start menu. Search Universal Serial Bus Controllers.

Also make sure that your source power of the PC can support the voltage of your SATA DVD. To increase your voltage to your PC from source power search in BIOS settings. You have to be careful with these settings because it can make some damages.
