Safari error on opening .wmv and .pps file

I am using the latest version of Safari Version 4.0.5 (6531.22.7). When I am trying to open an attachment with .wmv file or .pps file, I am getting this error: Community Toolbar – We’re sorry, but the Safari browser version you are currently using does not support the community toolbar.

There are times that I can open the attachment without problems, but most of the time, I am getting the same error. How can I avoid the error message?

If you are having a problem opening an attachment directly from the email, why not try downloading it first before opening it. This way, the file is already saved on your computer’s hard drive and can readily be opened by its associated application any time. Whereas,

if you open it directly from the email the file will be opened by the browser’s associated plug-in and then downloads the file for opening.

Even if the plug-in is compatible with the browser, it sometimes encounters conflict with the application that’s why it sometimes doesn’t work or generates an error.

This happens in frequently upgraded applications where their previous plug-ins becomes obsolete. The best solution would be to normally download it first.

After successfully downloading it, scan it with your antivirus to be sure that it is clean. And then open it with the appropriate application.
